New landmark buildings for Manchester

SK Transport Planning is assisting CQ Investments to assemble a planning application for 1,500 new apartments in four landmark buildings in the Great Jackson Street Masterplan.

The Great Jackson Street Development Masterplan is an eight-hectare area occupying a strategic position at the southern entrance to the city centre. The masterplan aims to deliver a new high-density quarter of Manchester with a vibrant and sustainable mix of uses to establish the area’s importance as a key gateway to the city.

The first phase of the scheme (Owen Street) is a mixed use scheme, providing 1,500 dwellings and amenity, leisure, open and commercial space. The scheme has been designed to allow effective connections to existing city centre uses, reduce the impact on surrounding strategic highway networks and create a new, vibrant quarter of the city centre. The proposal will introduce a cluster of new landmark buildings designed by SimpsonHaugh & Partners.

A planning submission is imminent. Watch this space.
